Report Food safety authorities have banned the sale and production of the popular snack, mixture in certain Kozhikode shops, in Kerala, after discovering the use of Tartrazine, a synthetic food colouring agent. Although permitted in some food items at controlled levels, Tartrazine is prohibited in mixtures due to its potential health risks, including allergic reactions.
