Officials of the Food Safety Department, Telangana, conducted a raid on the cloud kitchens of two large brands in Hyderabad’s Ameerpet—Rebel Foods Private Limited and ITC—and found expired food ,labelling and other violations.
The Findings
Officials discovered expired goods in the storeroom of Rebel Foods Private Limited, a cloud kitchen in SR Nagar, Ameerpet, including 1 kg of Peri Peri Sprinkler Seasoning, 1 kg of frozen baby potatoes, 2 kg of green cabbage, and 100 sachets of Garlic Bread Seasoning.
“The FSSAI license true copy was not displayed on the premises. The Food Business Operator (FBO) was found to be operating the same kitchen to offer online food services in the name of 27 other listed brands, claiming it as a multi-brand kitchen,” the department stated.
On the positive side, the food handlers were observed wearing hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. Pest control records for the premises were available. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers were available. Furthermore, water analysis reports for the RO water being used at the premises for food preparation were also available. One Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) trained supervisor was present at the premises, officials said.
At ITC’s cloud kitchen located in SR Nagar, Ameerpet, inspectors found that the FBO was operating the same kitchen to offer online food services under the names of ITC MasterChef, Sunfeast Baked Creations, and Aashirwad Soul Creations.
The food safety department officials reported no violations of sanitary standards or hygiene. “Pest control records for the premises were accessible. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers were accessible. Water quality reports for the RO water being utilized for food preparation were also accessible,” the department stated. “A true copy of the FSSAI license was displayed at the premises. Additionally, food handlers were found wearing hairnets, gloves, and uniforms.”

Department officials also conducted raids at several eateries in Hanumakonda, Medak, and Suryapet, where they discovered egregious sanitary and hygiene violations that could have a major negative impact on the end customer’s health.
