Twelve migrant workers landed in the emergency ward of the Government Medical College Hospital, Ernakulam, on Thursday night (April 17, 2025) after showing symptoms of food poisoning. They first visited the Government Taluk Hospital in Thrippunithura when they began feeling sick. Doctors there referred them to Ernakulam Government Medical College Hospital in Kalamassery around 8:30 p.m. for further care.
Doctors Confirm Symptoms After Eating
Dr. Ganesh Mohan, Medical Superintendent, said the migrant workers experienced vomiting and diarrhoea earlier that afternoon. The patients reported that they started feeling ill after eating a home-cooked meal. Doctors at the hospital are monitoring them closely. Their condition remains stable.
