43,421 Litres of Suspected Adulterated Ghee Seized in Jaipur

Key Update

Food safety officials seized 43,421 litres of ghee suspected to be adulterated from three warehouses in Jaipur on Thursday. The warehouses were linked to Girdhar Milk Food Product and another unit operating from the same premises under the name Shri Shyam Milk Food Product. The seized stock included 9,065 litres of Bhog Vinayak ghee in various pack sizes, 17,741 litres of Haryana Cream ghee, and 16,617 litres of Naksh Dairy ghee. Officials collected samples from all three brands and sent them for laboratory testing.

Action Follows Unsafe Test Reports

Food Safety Commissioner T. Shubhmangala said the crackdown followed test reports from Pratapgarh district, where Bhog Vinayak ghee samples tested unsafe. Based on these findings, inspection teams moved in to verify the firm’s operations. During the inspection, officials found that Girdhar Milk Food Product was not operating from its licensed address at Shyam Vihar Colony, Macheda, Jaipur. Instead, the firm was conducting business from another location, violating provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

Officials also detected Shri Shyam Milk Food Product operating from the same establishment. After collecting samples, authorities seized the combined stock of both firms.

Recall Ordered, Licence Cancellation Initiated

Earlier, the Central Food Testing Laboratory in Jaipur had confirmed Bhog Vinayak ghee as unsafe. Following the confirmation, authorities ordered an immediate recall of the product from markets across the State and initiated proceedings to cancel the firm’s food licence. Officials said they will take further action once laboratory reports of the seized samples are received.
