3.8 Tonnes of Unhygienic Paneer Seized in Secunderabad Raid

Key Update

Task Force sleuths from the Khairtabad Zone, along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) food safety officials, raided six dairy outlets near Ganj Bazar in Secunderabad and seized 3.8 tonnes of inferior-quality and unhygienic paneer. Investigators said the shops sourced paneer, khoa and other dairy products from unidentified suppliers. The operators allegedly stored the products in open plastic bags exposed to dust and insects and sold them to hotels, caterers and walk-in customers for ₹280 per kg, falsely marketing them as high-quality paneer.

Six Operators Apprehended

Officials apprehended the operators of the six outlets — Jaipal Singh Rajpurohit, Kolariya Vaibhav, Naresh Kolariya, Prem Anil Vyas, Ram Kishore Kolariya and Laxmi Narayana Kolariya. During the raid, police seized over 2.5 tonnes of paneer, 927 kg of khoa, 249 kg of white cream, 132 kg of kalakand and 12 kg of ghee, with the total value estimated at ₹11.1 lakh.

No Labels or Safety Records

Officials also found that none of the products carried brand names, manufacturing or expiry dates, and the outlets maintained no pest-control records, raising serious food safety concerns.
