To promote the importance of nutritious eating and timely vaccinations, the Chandigarh Immunisation Department and Food Safety Administration, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Navjeevan Society, organized an awareness campaign in Faidan village on Friday. The event aimed to educate the community about the role of healthy food and vaccinations in ensuring overall well-being.
Key Highlights of the Campaign
Approximately 400 children and their parents actively participated in the event, which included:
- Interactive sessions on nutrition and vaccination.
- Demonstrations on detecting food adulterants.
- Distribution of educational materials on health and hygiene.
Additionally, children received vaccinations during the event to ensure they remain protected from preventable diseases.
Inauguration and Expert Insights
Dr. Suman Singh, Director of UT Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the campaign. District Immunisation Officer Dr. Manjeet Singh underscored the critical role of timely vaccinations in preventing vaccine-preventable illnesses. Sukhwinder Singh, an officer from the Food Safety Administration, engaged the audience in discussions about safe food handling and proper hygiene practices.

Father Reji Tom, head of the Don Bosco Navjeevan Society, expressed gratitude to the health department for its collaborative efforts.
