Key Update
In a major crackdown on food adulteration, police in Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur, seized more than 600 kg of suspected adulterated paneer during a raid on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, officers intercepted a pickup vehicle while workers were unloading the paneer at a dairy outlet for local distribution. Soon after the seizure, a team from the Chief Medical and Health Officer’s office reached the spot and collected samples for laboratory testing. Preliminary checks indicated adulteration, prompting authorities to destroy around 600 kg of the seized stock to ensure it did not reach consumers.
Consignment Meant for Local Market
Officials said the consignment had been transported in a pickup truck and was intended for local shops in the area. Police detained the driver for questioning and launched further investigations to trace the source of the adulterated dairy product.
Series of Raids in the Area
The latest action marks the third crackdown on suspected adulterated dairy products in Jawahar Nagar this month. Earlier enforcement drives in the locality led to the seizure of fake paneer, ghee, and cream from a pickup vehicle. In another operation during the Holi period, authorities destroyed about 250 kg of adulterated paneer and khoya. Following these repeated incidents, officials have intensified surveillance in the area. Authorities said they will continue enforcement drives and take strict legal action against those involved in the sale and distribution of unsafe food.
