Spoiled Eggs, Fake Coconut Powder Seized in Hyderabad Raids

Illegal Units Busted Across the City

In a series of coordinated raids, Hyderabad Police and the Commissioner’s Task Force teams busted multiple illegal food manufacturing units across the city and arrested seven people. Officials seized spoiled eggs, chemical additives, food products, and machinery used in food production.

Trader Arrested for Illegal Coconut Powder Unit

In one of the major operations, officials from the Golconda zone arrested 31-year-old trader Nakoul Marotiyaa in Begum Bazar for running an illegal coconut powder manufacturing unit under the name Balaji Purushotham Coconut Business Shop. Investigators found that he sourced low-quality coconut powder from Karnataka, repackaged it into branded packets, and sold it as genuine products without a licence or food safety certification.

Adulterated Products Worth Lakhs Seized

During the raid, authorities seized about 8,300 kg of coconut powder, along with packing and weighing machines. Officials estimated the total value of the seized items at ₹21 lakh. Police registered a case at Goshamahal Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety Act. In another raid at an illegal food unit in Mailardevpally, officials found workers using rotten eggs to prepare cakes and doughnuts, raising serious concerns about hygiene and food safety practices.
