World Food India 2025 to Spotlight Food Safety, Innovation, and Global Ties

Key Development

The Union government has set an ambitious goal: to make at least one Indian food product a regular feature on dining tables worldwide. Announcing this vision, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan emphasised that World Food India 2025 will play a pivotal role in achieving it while reinforcing India’s commitment to food safety and global standards.

A Global Platform for Safe Food Systems

The fourth edition of this flagship event will be held from September 25 to 28, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event promises to be the largest so far, with participation from 90+ countries, 2,000+ exhibitors, and tens of thousands of stakeholders covering the entire farm-to-fork value chain. Speaking at the curtain-raiser event in New Delhi, Mr. Paswan unveiled the event brochure, website, and mobile app, underscoring that World Food India is more than a trade show—it is a platform for transforming India into a global hub for food innovation, safety, and sustainability.

Food Safety at the Core

The Minister highlighted that India’s food processing sector must meet stringent global safety standards to gain consumer trust worldwide. The upcoming event will feature technology showcases, policy dialogues, CEO round tables, and buyer-seller meets focused on quality assurance, traceability, and safe food systems.

Collaboration for Global Trust

Mr. Paswan assured stakeholders that their concerns on GST were valid and promised to act as a bridge between the industry and the GST Council to support growth. Shri Avinash Joshi, Secretary, MoFPI, added that WFI 2025 would promote inclusive value chains, encourage adoption of advanced technologies, and drive compliance with international food safety regulations. Anchored in Atmanirbhar Bharat and aligned with India@2047 goals, World Food India 2025 aims to attract global investments, boost technology adoption, and make Indian food synonymous with safety, quality, and sustainability.
