Key Update
Agilent Technologies India, a leader in life sciences and diagnostics technology, and the ICAR (Indian Agricultural Research Institute) – National Research Centre for Grapes (NRCG), Pune, announced the next phase of their research and development collaboration on Monday. This partnership addresses the growing demand for reliable, scalable, and regulation-ready food testing solutions.
Boosting India’s Grape Exports Through Quality Assurance
Together, Agilent and NRCG will co-develop workflows for analysing pesticide residues and fumigants, focusing on sustainability, precision, and regulatory compliance. Their joint efforts aim to strengthen India’s position as a global grape exporter by increasing transparency and building trust in quality assurance, thereby opening new market opportunities. To promote best practices in analytical testing, the partners will conduct workshops, webinars, and publish technical resources. These initiatives will build capacity among food safety professionals and encourage government and commercial laboratories to adopt validated testing methods.
Shared Vision for Innovation and Global Competitiveness in Food Safety
Nandakumar Kalathil, Country General Manager of Agilent Technologies India, said, “We are proud to expand our collaboration with NRCG and contribute to developing resilient, future-ready food safety systems. This partnership is about more than technology—it builds trust, enables transformation, and supports India’s leadership in safe food production.”
Dr. Kaushik Banerjee, Director of ICAR-NRCG, echoed this sentiment, emphasising that the collaboration combines Agilent’s technological strengths with NRCG’s research expertise to foster innovation, ensure regulatory compliance, and empower stakeholders.
