Inspections Across Schools, Parks, and Bakeries
The GHMC food safety wing conducted a special drive on Sunday across Hyderabad to assess food safety in establishments frequently visited by children, including school premises, play zones, GHMC parks, and bakeries. Officials carried out 81 inspections across parks, schools, food courts, and bakeries as part of the drive.
Focus on Hygiene and Safe Practices
During the inspections, officials educated Food Business Operators (FBOs) on key food safety and hygiene practices. These included proper labelling of packaged raw materials, safe storage and preservation of food items, and effective pest control measures. They also emphasised the importance of maintaining relevant records. Officials identified violations during the drive and will issue notices to 14 FBOs.
Food safety officers collected samples during the inspections and sent them for laboratory analysis. They also directed all FBOs to comply with food safety norms strictly.
