Food Safety Officers Crack Down on EatClub Central Kitchen, Suspend  Licence

Food safety officers in Telangana have suspended the licence of EatClub Brands Pvt. Ltd.’s central kitchen in Ghatkesar, Telangana, after an inspection revealed multiple food safety and hygiene violations. The facility supplies food to outlets operating under brands such as Box8 and MOJO Pizza.

At EatClub, Officials found poor sanitation, improper storage of raw meat, eggs, and vegetarian and non-vegetarian food products. They also observed that food was transported without adequate temperature control and identified several labelling violations on packaged food products.

Cockroach, Rodent Infestation and Unsafe Food Handling Detected

The inspection revealed cockroach, housefly, and rodent infestation within the facility. Officials also detected the use of synthetic food colours and found that the sugar used to prepare breakfast items was labelled as “Pharmaceutical Grade.” Inspectors further observed food handlers preparing food with bare hands, unhygienic food preparation practices, improper licensing categories, and inadequate food safety records.

Officials Seize Food Products, Initiate Legal Action

Food safety officers seized food products that violated the Food Safety and Standards Regulations and suspended the facility’s licence. They said further action has been initiated under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
