Key Update
The Health Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is actively strengthening food safety oversight during the Kankaria Carnival 2025 to protect public health. As part of this ongoing drive, officials collected food samples from 19 food stalls operating at the carnival. The department sent all samples to accredited laboratories for testing in compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act.
Wide Range of Food Items Under Testing
The collected samples covered a diverse range of commonly consumed food items, including dhokla, flavoured milk, buttermilk (chhaas), momos, chana chor garam, khichu, jamun shot, Black Forest pastry, batter (khiru), dabeli filling (mavo), milkshakes, jeera puri, chaat, milk toast, samosa, farsi puri, kachori, and thin sev.
Samples Drawn from Multiple Food Stalls
Officials collected these samples from various food stalls at the Kankaria carnival, including Krishna Madras Cafe, Amul, Mulraj Caterers, Mishti Kitchen, Crown Bakery, Idli Ghar Foods Private Limited, Green Food Service, Hetvi Food, Epicore Health Care, Shukruti Caterers, Aabaad Foods Pvt Ltd, Bombay Bhajipau & Street Food, and Aapno Rajasthan.
