Health department officials conducted rigorous inspections across Maradu municipality, Kochi to ensure food safety and hygiene compliance in hotels. In the Kottaram area, they inspected eight hotels and found one serving stale food. Authorities immediately seized the unsafe food and imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the establishment for violating food safety regulations.
Strict Measures Against Unhygienic Practices
Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene in food preparation and handling. They warned hotel operators against unsanitary conditions and assured strict action against any violations that endanger public health.
Commitment to Ongoing Enforcement
The municipality’s Clean City project manager, Premchand, led the operation alongside public health inspectors Husain, AS Anees, Vinu Mohan, Hanees, and KR Abdul Sattar. Municipality chairman Antony Ashanparambil reaffirmed that inspections will continue, and violators will face stringent penalties to uphold food safety standards in Maradu.
