Key Development
The municipal Health Department in Sultan Bathery in Wayanad inspected eateries across the town and seized unfit food items. During the inspection, officials shut down Al Junoub Kuzhimandi on Mysuru Road for operating in unhygienic conditions without proper waste management.
Multiple Restaurants Face Action
In addition, officials destroyed spoiled food from several other establishments, including Hotel Uduppi, Star Kitchen, The Real Cafe on Mysuru Road, Amma Mess on Cheral Road, and Hot Pot Cool Bar in Moolankavu. Inspectors examined about fifteen establishments in total and issued notices to those that violated food safety standards, said P.S. Santhosh Kumar, municipal Cleanliness Manager, who led the inspections.
Authorities Demand Compliance
The Health Department emphasised that all food-selling establishments must maintain a valid license, submit drinking water test reports, and ensure employees hold health cards. Santhosh Kumar warned that authorities will take strict action against businesses that sell unfit food or neglect hygiene. He also stated that follow-up inspections will be conducted to ensure continued compliance.
