Topo Chico Mineral Water Bottles Recalled for Bacteria Concern

Report

Coca-Cola has recalled some bottles of its Topo Chico Mineral Water because they might have bacteria called Pseudomonas. The company found the problem in 16.9-ounce glass bottles sold in Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas in the USA. A Coca-Cola official said they have already removed all the affected bottles from about 40 shops. So far, no one has fallen sick.

Check These Packs and Lot Numbers

Some packs of Topo Chico Mineral Water were sold at Costco and Sam’s Club stores in Texas and Louisiana between May 20 and May 29. If you have these packs, check the lot numbers: 11A2543, 12A2543, 13A2541.  If you have any of these bottles, return them to the shop for a refund or replacement, or call 1-800-GET-COKE for help.

Is It Dangerous?

Pseudomonas bacteria are common in water. For most people, the risk is very low, but people with weak immunity may have mild health problems if they drink it. Coca-Cola owns Topo Chico and says it always puts product safety and quality first. They promise to keep strict checks so that customers stay safe.
