Walmart Recalls 4 Food Items Since March, Cites Safety First

Report

Since March 2025, Walmart has recalled four food products after receiving alerts from the FDA and identifying issues through internal safety checks. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported. As the world’s largest retailer, with nearly 95% of Americans shopping in its stores at least twice a year, Walmart responds swiftly to any food safety concerns. “We act fast to stop sales and pull recalled items,” the company stated, reinforcing its commitment to consumer well-being.

How Walmart Manages Recalls

Walmart’s food safety teams act immediately by blocking recalled products from shelves and halting online sales. The FDA oversees the process to ensure full compliance. In a public statement, Walmart confirmed it works closely with regulators to maintain product safety and regulatory standards. The company encourages customers to visit its website for the latest updates on recalls.

Baked Beans Recall: Undeclared Soy

On May 2, 2025, Vietti Food Group recalled 4,515 cases of its Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans (15 oz.) after discovering undeclared soy in the product. Soy is a major allergen that can trigger serious or life-threatening reactions in sensitive individuals.

“Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product,” Vietti Food Group warned.

The company has advised customers to return the affected product to stores for a full refund.

Celery Sticks Advisory Issued in April

On April 10, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. issued a safety advisory for its Marketside Celery Sticks (4-count bundle, 4-inch/1.6 oz) sold at Walmart. The company cited concerns about the product’s freshness and safety and took action ahead of the baked beans recall.

Other Recalled Items: Chips and Frozen Meals

Walmart has also pulled additional items from shelves due to safety issues, including:

  • Frito-Lay Tortilla Chips
  • Nestlé USA’s Lean Cuisine Meals
  • STOUFFER’S Frozen Meals

Consumer Action: Stay Updated, Stay Safe

Walmart urges customers to stay informed through its website and the FDA’s official recall database. Shoppers should return recalled items to stores for a refund. Consumers with food allergies or sensitivities should always read ingredient labels carefully, even on trusted brands.
