A recent food poisoning incident has left 106 students hospitalised after consuming khichdi during their midday meal at Zilla Parishad School in Pardi village, Saoli taluk, Chandrapur, Maharashtra. On Thursday, the school served khichdi to 126 students as part of its regular mid-day meal programme. Shortly after eating, 106 students showed symptoms of uneasiness and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that the khichdi became contaminated, leading to food poisoning.

MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar expressed serious concern over the health and safety of the affected students. He directed the district collector and the chief executive officer of the Zilla Parishad to carry out a detailed investigation to determine the cause of the incident. He also urged officials to monitor the medical care of the children closely to ensure they receive prompt and adequate treatment.

The incident has sparked outrage among parents and residents, who are demanding action against those responsible and the implementation of stricter measures to prevent similar events in the future.
