Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety task force teams conducted inspection raids at several well-known restaurants in Malakpet, uncovering multiple breaches of food hygiene regulations.

At Pista House, inspectors noted slippery flooring and an uneven slope, causing water to pool in two drain spots. At Aazebo – The Royal Arabian Restaurant, inspectors found open windows without insect-proof screens, stagnant water in kitchen drains, and uncovered food in refrigerators. The restaurant had no temperature records for its refrigeration units, and staff left trash cans uncovered. Furthermore, the unit failed to renew its FSSAI license on 15th September 2024 and didn’t display it. The restaurant also lacked health certificates, pest control logs, and water quality assessments for its RO system.

At Burger King, inspectors discovered that the restaurant used palm oil with a Total Polar Compound (TPC) value of 27.0, exceeding the allowed limit of 25.0 for frying non-vegetarian items. As a result, they immediately confiscated 15 litres of cooking oil.
