The First Lady of the Maldives, Sajidha Mohamed, recently visited the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) headquarters in New Delhi. While there, Sajidha Mohamed met with India’s representative for the Codex Alimentarius Commission, exploring various aspects of food safety standards and regulatory frameworks. The discussions aimed to strengthen understanding and cooperation in maintaining high food safety standards.

The First Lady was introduced to FSSAI’s laboratory ecosystems, which are essential for ensuring food safety across India. A key highlight of the meeting was a demonstration of FSSAI’s “Food Safety on Wheels” initiative—a mobile food testing lab crucial for conducting immediate food safety tests and raising awareness nationwide.
