Inspection Uncovers Hygiene Violations at Mahabubnagar Snack Venue, License Revoked

Report

Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety teams inspected a snack-selling venue in Mahabubnagar district and found multiple hygiene violations. They confiscated food worth ₹60,500 due to improper labelling and unsanitary practices. Consequently, the department revoked the establishment’s license under the Food Safety and Standards Act, of 2006.

Deficiencies Uncovered at Sri Santosh Foods in Yenugonda

During the inspection on December 14 at Sri Santosh Foods in Yenugonda, the teams discovered significant deficiencies. They confiscated chips, roasted peanuts, fried moong dal, and a mixture. The teams observed that the food items had incorrect labels with expired food licenses and lacked essential details, such as manufacturing and expiration dates. They also identified unsafe practices, including storing groundnuts in urea bags, which are banned for food handling because of contamination risks. Furthermore, according to a statement, they found recycled oil and artificial food dyes, which food safety regulations prohibit.
