Kerala’s First Food Processing & Life Sciences Hub Launched at Angamaly

Foundation Stone Laid

Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeev on Sunday (September 14) laid the foundation stone for RCC Nutrafill’s Food Processing and Life Sciences Manufacturing Facility at Angamaly. The event began with a bhoomi pooja and launched what the company calls Kerala’s first integrated hub for food processing and life sciences. RCC Nutrafill is designing the facility to integrate cold storage, warehousing, research and development, logistics, and the handling of FMCG and life sciences products. This integration ensures efficiency while upholding strict standards of quality and food safety.

Placing Food Safety at the Core

The facility will operate with temperature-controlled storage, hygienic processing units, and advanced logistics to prevent contamination and reduce food spoilage. By aligning with FSSAI and global benchmarks, the hub will strengthen food safety practices across the supply chain. Minister Rajeev emphasised that the project demonstrates Kerala’s drive for innovation-led industrial growth. He pledged full government support to help Nutrafill build a facility that sets new standards for quality, safety, and sustainability.

Investing in Scale and Jobs

RCC Nutrafill is investing ₹100 crore in the hub, which spans five acres. The company plans to complete the first phase within 24 months and create 500 direct and indirect jobs in two phases. RCC Nutrafill Director Sai Devarajulu Prasad thanked the Kerala government for its support. He said the facility will strengthen Kerala’s position in food processing and life sciences, generate employment, foster skill development, and promote safe, sustainable innovation.
