Key Update
Swiggy has introduced a new standalone food delivery app called Toing in Pune. The app is designed to serve budget-conscious users, especially students and young professionals, with most meals priced between ₹99 and ₹150.
Focus on Affordable Everyday Meals
Toing operates like Swiggy’s main platform but is tailored for users seeking lower-cost options. It lists mini meals, burgers, sandwiches, and desserts from a variety of local restaurants. The app is currently available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. A banner in the app reads, “What you see offline is what you pay online,” reflecting a transparent pricing model that mirrors offline rates.
Where Toing is Currently Available
The app is currently being piloted in specific parts of Pune, including:
-
Kothrud
-
Hinjewadi
-
Wakad
-
Aundh
-
Pimple Saudagar
These areas have a large student and working youth population, making them ideal for an affordable food delivery pilot.
Delivery Fees and Discounts
Toing offers free delivery for orders above ₹99. Orders below that threshold carry a ₹19 delivery fee. The platform fee is ₹12—slightly less than the fee on Swiggy’s main app. While restaurant GST still applies, Toing does not charge packaging fees at the moment. The app also offers flash deals under ₹99, making it attractive for users with tight daily budgets.
Designed for Everyday Use
Toing’s simple interface, featuring a green and pink colour scheme, is a shift from Swiggy’s typical branding. It is aimed at younger users who prefer quick, affordable meals without hidden charges.
