Fake Nandini Ghee Racket Busted in Bengaluru

Fake Nandini Ghee Racket Busted in Bengaluru

Key Update

The CCB (Central Crime Branch) in Bengaluru uncovered a major interstate racket that produced and supplied adulterated ghee disguised as Nandini-branded products. Officers arrested four suspects and seized goods worth ₹1.26 crore. The gang manufactured the adulterated ghee in Tamil Nadu by mixing coconut oil and palm oil. They used automated machines to pack the mixture into counterfeit Nandini sachets and plastic bottles. They then transported these fake products to Bengaluru.

Fake Ghee Entered the Market Through Licensed Distributors

Local distributors with valid KMF licences received the counterfeit ghee. They allegedly sold it to wholesale and retail stores — and even Nandini parlours — at the price of authentic Nandini ghee.

CCB and KMF Conduct Coordinated Raids

Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team from the CCB Special Investigation Squad and the KMF Vigilance Wing raided godowns, shops, and vehicles linked to Krishna Enterprises in Nanjamba Agrahara, Chamarajpet. The prime accused and his family own the establishment. The team intercepted a vehicle from Tamil Nadu carrying adulterated ghee packed in fake Nandini packaging. Officers seized the load and detained the driver on the spot.
