Food safety authorities collected a besan sample from a retail outlet in Kargil district and sent it to the National Food Laboratory, JNPA, Navi Mumbai, for analysis. The laboratory report dated 06 January 2026 confirmed that the sample contained Chlorpyriphos pesticide residue above the maximum permitted limit under food safety regulations.
