Authorities have temporarily closed four hostels at Aluva U.C. College after several students fell ill with symptoms of vomiting and extreme weakness. Around 25 students have experienced physical weakness in recent days, prompting immediate action from the college administration and health officials.

Water Contamination and Food Poisoning Under Investigation

The U.C. College hostel receives its water from a well, and the health department recommended closing the hostels until the water undergoes proper chlorination. Health officials are also investigating whether food poisoning contributed to the illness. Approximately 200 students reside in the affected hostels. The college administration is taking the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of all students.
