A 26-year-old youth from the Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu died of suspected food poisoning after eating chicken noodles from a hotel. The victim, Manojkumar, a resident of Keel Perumpakkam, fell ill with severe diarrhoea shortly after consuming the noodles and had been resting at home for the past three days. On Thursday night, Manojkumar collapsed due to breathing difficulties. His family rushed him to the Villupuram District Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The postmortem report confirmed that he died from food poisoning caused by eating the contaminated chicken noodles.

Police Launch Investigation

Villupuram Town Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the source of the contaminated food and check whether the hotel had breached food safety norms. Officials plan to inspect the hotel’s kitchen and its food handling practices to prevent similar incidents in the future. Food safety authorities have urged the public to remain cautious while eating from roadside stalls or hotels with questionable hygiene standards. They also reminded hoteliers to strictly adhere to food safety rules to avoid tragic incidents like this.
