Telangana Cracks Down on Hospital Food Safety

Report

The Telangana Food Safety Department conducted a state-wide inspection of government hospital canteens and kitchens on Monday to enforce hygiene and food safety regulations. Food Safety Officers inspected 19 hospitals, including MNJ Cancer Hospital, Niloufer Hospital, Government Chest Hospital, Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, and MGM Hospital in Warangal.

Training and Compliance Checks

Officials educated food handlers and kitchen staff on best practices for handling raw materials, storage, and food preparation. They also collected food samples for laboratory testing to ensure compliance with safety standards. Authorities issued notices to vendors who violated hygiene regulations and confirmed that further action would follow under the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006.
