The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) is partnering with the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) to boost food safety and quality across its institutions. This collaboration aims to improve meal standards and nutritional quality, ensuring that students receive safe, hygienic, and nutritious food every day.
Common Diet Plan for Uniform Food Standards
Officials have stated that the introduction of a common diet plan will mark a key milestone in maintaining uniform food standards across all Gurukuls. With 268 institutions serving 1.7 lakh students in the state, this initiative is a response to concerns over food contamination, repeated complaints, and incidents related to meal quality.
NIN Expertise to Ensure Rigorous Safety Measures
By partnering with NIN, the Telangana government intends to establish rigorous safety measures, conduct quality assessments, and enforce best dietary practices. Officials emphasized that this partnership reflects the government’s commitment to student well-being, sets new benchmarks for food safety, and supports the holistic development of students in Gurukuls.
