Report

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Cargill Kitchen Solutions is recalling approximately 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products due to possible contamination with sodium hypochlorite—the main ingredient in bleach.

Recalled Products Distributed Across Multiple States

Cargill produced the affected liquid egg products on March 12 and 13. The cartons carry “use by” dates of August 9 and 10, 2025, and March 7, 2026. The recalled products include:

  • Egg Beaters Original Liquid Egg Substitute

  • Cage-Free Original Liquid Egg Substitute

  • Cage-Free Original Frozen Egg Substitute

  • Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites Liquid Egg Substitute

All products come in 32-ounce cartons and bear the establishment number “G1804” printed on the packaging. According to the FSIS, distributors in Ohio and Texas received the recalled items for food service use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Iowa. However, the agency warned that the products may have reached other parts of the country as well.
