Overview
Four students from the Tribal Girls Welfare Hostel in Saipur, Vikarabad, Telangana, fell ill due to suspected food poisoning after eating at the hostel on Tuesday. Medical staff quickly treated the affected students at a government hospital. “The girls reported stomach pain, vomiting, and general discomfort,” said SP K. Narayana Reddy, according to TNIE. “After examining them, doctors observed improvement and advised the students to return to the hostel.”
Social Media Videos Highlight Student Dissatisfaction with Food
Videos of the students receiving treatment in the hospital, along with their complaints about the poor quality of food at the hostel, spread widely on social media. Tensions escalated at the hospital when BRS and BJP workers staged a protest at the hostel, demanding strict action against the staff for their alleged negligence in ensuring food safety. This incident follows a similar food poisoning case at Maganoor ZPHS in Narayanpet, where over 40 students were affected by contaminated food.
