SRM University–Andhra Pradesh has announced an immediate two-week holiday starting November 7, 2025, after several students reportedly developed symptoms of food poisoning. The university is using the break to strengthen hygiene and safety measures across the campus. In a statement issued on November 6, the administration said it will conduct deep cleaning, fumigation, and disinfection in all private and public spaces. It has also brought in third-party evaluators, food safety auditors, and professional sanitation teams to reinforce hygiene protocols.
Classes to Resume After Safety Measures Are Completed
The SRM University plans to resume regular classes on November 24, 2025, once the sanitisation work is fully completed. It assured students and parents that it remains committed to maintaining strict cleanliness and food safety standards. Meanwhile, Guntur District Collector A. Thameem Ansariya formed an inquiry committee on November 6, 2025, to investigate the suspected food poisoning incident and the hospitalisation of affected students.
