On Sunday, the Hazaribag district administration in Jharkhand raided an illegal dairy unit in Purunapani, Churchu block, after DC Shashi Prakash Singh ordered action. Food safety officer Md Manzar Hussain carried out a surprise inspection and uncovered large-scale adulteration of paneer and butter at the unit run by Anil Singh.
Officials Seize Adulterated Products
During the raid, officials seized 1.3 quintals of adulterated paneer, 40 litres of adulterated butter, and 10 kg of maize starch allegedly used for adulteration. They moved the seized items to the Charhi police station and will destroy them after the laboratory confirms the adulteration. The team collected samples of paneer and butter and sent them to the state food testing laboratory in Namkum, Ranchi, for detailed analysis.
Team Flags Hygiene Violations and Lack of Licence
Officials reported extremely unhygienic conditions inside the unit and confirmed that the operator had no FSSAI licence or registration. Citing serious violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the administration sealed the entire facility until further orders.
