Sri Krishna Sweets Stands by Quality, Denies Vanaspati Claims

Key Update

Coimbatore-based Sri Krishna Sweets Private Limited, a maker of sweets and savouries, reaffirmed that it strictly follows FSSAI regulations, maintaining food safety, hygiene, and product quality across all operations. M. Krishnan told the media on Wednesday that the company welcomes independent, certified testing of its products and cooperates fully with regulatory authorities. He made the statement after recent media reports claimed the company used vanaspati in its Mysore Pak and faced government penalties in Chennai.

Maintains High Hygiene and Quality Practices

Krishnan stated that Sri Krishna Sweets operates a 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that it keeps hygienic and well-maintained. The company organises storage using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices and ensures packaging and labelling comply with all legal requirements.

Trains Staff and Uses Only Authentic Ingredients

The company trains all food handlers in strict personal hygiene across its 16 domestic outlets and two overseas locations. Krishnan emphasised that the company has never replaced ghee with vanaspati or any other substitute during production.
