50+ Hospitalised in Thiruvananthapuram After Food Poisoning

More than 50 people were hospitalised after suffering suspected food poisoning linked to food consumed from the A1 Hotel near Venchavode, Sreekaryam. Those affected had eaten food from the hotel on Saturday evening. Most of them began experiencing health complications from Monday onwards, including vomiting, stomach pain, and severe discomfort. As their condition worsened, they sought medical treatment.

Patients Admitted Across District Hospitals

Authorities admitted the affected individuals to various hospitals across the Thiruvananthapuram district, with several patients reported to be in serious condition. All those affected are currently undergoing treatment. Following complaints and the mass illness, the corporation authorities ordered the immediate closure of the hotel. Officials have treated all cases as suspected food poisoning.

Food Samples Collected for Analysis

Health authorities have collected food samples from the hotel kitchen and will send them to a laboratory for detailed analysis to determine the exact cause of contamination. Officials also stated that they will conduct thorough inspections at other eateries in the area to prevent similar incidents.
