Family Falls Ill After Anniversary Celebration

Six people, including children, sought medical treatment after reportedly falling ill from consuming a cake purchased for a wedding anniversary celebration in Parappa, Kasaragod.

According to reports, the cake was purchased from a local bakery by a resident of Kanakappally for the family celebration. Shortly after consuming the cake, several family members developed symptoms of illness. When the family examined the remaining cake, they allegedly discovered visible mould.

The six affected individuals were taken to a hospital, where they received primary treatment before being discharged.

Bakery Closed Following Inspection

Following a complaint, officials from the Food Safety and Health Department inspected the bakery, ordered its closure, and initiated further action.

The incident highlights the importance of maintaining proper food storage, handling, and quality control practices to help prevent the sale of unsafe food products. Consumers are also advised to inspect packaged foods before consumption and report any suspected food safety violations to the authorities.
