Mohali’s Festive Food Safety Inspections for Confectioneries

Food Safety Team Inspects Confectionery Kitchens

In Mohali, a food safety team led by District Health Officer Amrit Warring recently inspected the kitchens of various confectionery producers to ensure sanitation and hygiene practices are in place. Alongside their inspections, the team issued warnings against the use of synthetic or fake paneer and khoya, stressing the importance of food authenticity. According to Warring, this campaign aims to enhance public awareness of food purity and ensure that confectionery production meets all standards established by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

DC Aashika Jain Reviews Food Safety Efforts

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, reviewing the progress of the food safety wing in her office today, reinforced the focus on preventing food adulteration, especially during the high-demand holiday season. Jain highlighted that adherence to FSSAI guidelines by confectionery and bakery producers is critical to maintaining public trust in local products. She called upon the food safety team to maintain a strict monitoring approach and take necessary actions to address any lapses in standards.

Ensuring Market Purity and Consumer Safety

As part of the action plan, Jain instructed Warring and Civil Surgeon Renu Singh to implement thorough checks on sweets and baked goods circulating in the market. Their goal is to protect consumers from adulterated products and maintain food quality standards across the board. She further emphasized that public health depends on the integrity of food sold and that regulatory teams should act decisively in cases of non-compliance.

Commitment to Consumer Safety

The ongoing campaign underscores the local administration’s commitment to consumer safety and high-quality food production. With inspections and public awareness, officials are working to ensure safe and genuine products for the public, bolstering the credibility of local confectioners and bakers.
