225 Kg Tainted Paneer Busted in Patiala Festive Food Raid

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, food safety officials raided a dairy unit in Chutehra village, Samana block, Patiala, Punjab and seized 225 kg of suspected adulterated paneer. They also confiscated skimmed milk powder allegedly used in its preparation and collected samples of paneer, curd, and milk powder for laboratory testing under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Authorities said further action will follow based on lab results.

District-Wide Enforcement

As part of the festive-season crackdown, teams conducted surprise inspections at sweet shops, dairies, and departmental stores in Nabha and Rajpura on October 6, 2025, seizing 11 samples of khoya-based sweets and spices for analysis. In September 2025, officials had collected 69 food samples across the district to monitor and prevent adulteration.

Ensuring Food Safety

The health department warned of strict action against violations under the Food Safety and Standards Act and pledged to continue rigorous inspections to ensure citizens receive safe, hygienic, and high-quality food during the festive season.
