Swiggy Faces Backlash Over Stale Food Delivery in Lal Bazar, Srinagar

Report

In a troubling case of food adulteration, online food delivery giant Swiggy is facing severe criticism after delivering stale and unhygienic food to a customer in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred when a family ordered food from the popular Roadside Cafe at Main Bus Stand, Lal Bazar.

Customer’s Shocking Experience

The customer was appalled upon receiving the food, stating, “When we opened the food packets, the biryanis had a terrible smell, and the rice was clumped together. Despite ordering two pastas, we only received one.” This latest complaint adds to a growing list of similar issues Swiggy has faced, with multiple accusations of delivering substandard, unhygienic meals through its platform.

Health Risks and Customer Demands

The family’s ordeal worsened after consuming the food. Two family members fell ill and vomited after eating the stale biryanis. The affected customer has demanded strict action against both Swiggy and Roadside Cafe and has called on food safety authorities to intervene and prevent such incidents in the future.
