Significant Update
Food safety teams from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) inspected Zepto’s Narsingi facility in Hyderabad and found several hygiene and compliance violations. The officials directed the Food Business Operator (FBO) to temporarily stop accepting customer orders, carry out thorough cleaning and corrective measures, and restart operations only after meeting food safety requirements.
Inspection Reveals Multiple Hygiene and Storage Lapses
The inspection team identified unclean racks, crates, flooring, walls, and ceilings at the facility. Officials found the Pest-o-Flash unit in the fruits and vegetables section placed incorrectly, which could increase contamination risks.
The team also found food bags placed directly on the floor without pallets, food waste scattered on racks and floors, and poor segregation of food and non-food items. Officials noted that the outlet failed to display its FSSAI licence prominently and found the air curtains unclean. CMC officials will issue an improvement notice to the facility.
Burger King Outlet Faces Notice Over Kitchen Issues
CMC officials inspected Burger King in Puppalaguda and found oil leakage from kitchen equipment, unclean storage crates, and gaps in documentation, including missing food testing reports and packaging records. The authorities issued an improvement notice to the outlet and instructed the management to correct the identified deficiencies.
CMC Strengthens Food Safety Enforcement
Through these inspections, CMC officials continue to monitor food establishments and enforce compliance with hygiene, storage, and food safety requirements.
